Welcome to Class 6!
Staff in class are:
The next few months in class 6 are going to be exciting.
This half term our class topic will be water, understanding where it comes from and the effect of not having access to clean water.
In literacy we will study Poetic style and recap letter writing, as well as continuing to reinforce our fundamental literacy skills such as punctuation.
In Maths we will be working a lot with numbers including fractions decimals and percentages and securing written method for all four number operations.
In science we are learning about gas and developing our understanding that it is all around us.
On the 18th April we went Blackpool in order to investigate a locality, which contrasts with our own. Unfortunately, the wind was too strong for us to go to the top of the tower, but we were able to complete our walk and identify the similarities and differences, teasing out the reasons for these differences.
Homework (in a written form) may be given out from time to time in order to embed some of the skills that we learn in class, but this will not be the case every week. Everyone should continue to work on their times tables at home particularly 7s and 8s, but not forgetting the others.
