The Spring Term promises to be a very interesting one for Class 6 (Year 5).
The topics that will be covered in Literacy include persuasion and letter writing. Children will have the opportunity to write letters to the Headteacher and Prime Minister amongst others, ensuring they use all the features possible to try and persuade them to their point of view. They will also continue with extended writing once a week, which will include writing of fictional stories.
In Art, Class 6 will be looking at Andy Warhol. This will include researching his techniques and commenting on his work before producing an individual piece of art in the Warhol style. Children will also contribute to a whole class piece.
Science will focus around the idea of keeping healthy. Balanced diets, exercise and other healthy habits will be looked at in detail.
PE will continue to be on a Wednesday and Thursday, so please ensure all kit is in school. With the improving weather, children may also be taken outside for one of these sessions, so it is advisable children also include a jumper in their PE kit.
Home reading books and records have been used very successfully by all of Class 6, and we hope this continues into the new half term.
Thank you for your continued support. If there are any issues please feel free to come and speak to the Class 6 teaching team!
