I’m afraid this newsletter is going to be a long list of dates but all of them are important and the children are going to have some fun on most of them!
First, this Friday 21st March is Sport Relief Day so for a small donation the children can wear their sports kit (preferably red) to school. We will be doing some running and making something tasty to eat!
Tuesday 25th March is non-uniform day when the children should bring an easter egg to school which will be used for prizes at the Easter Egg Bingo later this term.
Parent’s Evening is on Monday 31st March or Tuesday 1st April. Please return the slip or see me to make an appointment.
Wednesday 2nd April is Pirate Day in Reception! We hope the children will come dressed as pirates for two special events on that day. First, we are going to have a class assembly in the hall at 10:10am when we will be singing the pirate sea shanties we have be learning. We hope you will be able to come. Then in the afternoon, and still dressed as pirates, we are going by coach to St Thomas’ School in Blackburn to take part in a Pirate Sing Song with a number of other schools. We will leave after an early dinner and be back by 3:15pm in time for Easter Egg Bingo which is being held in the hall after school. School are funding the visit so I don’t need to ask for money or special permission but please make a note of the details.
Then, on Thursday 3rd April in the afternoon we are going to walk down to DACA for a storytelling session. The children have been working with students from the academy 6th form who are writing some special stories just for us! Again, I don’t need to ask permission and we will be back by 3:15pm but please make sure the children have a coat in school that day in case of rain.
This brings us to Friday 4th April, the last day of term before the holidays when it will be judging for the Spring Flower/Garden competition. Please put names on entries and bring them into school in the morning. Hopefully lots of you will have a go at winning one of the prizes.
After all that fun and activity we will all be ready for the Easter Holidays!
