Results & Ofsted Home / About Us / Results & Ofsted Report / Primary school where pupils find their lessons fun and exciting and where they are greeted by their kind, friendly teachers each morning is graded Good by Ofsted Ofsted visited Sudell Primary School on the 6th and 7th October 2021 and found a transformed school where pupils achieve well because school leaders have high expectations of pupils; where pupils enjoy being at school and are greeted each morning by their kind, friendly teachers; and a place where lessons are fun and exciting. Jane Fletcher, Chief Executive Officer at Aldridge Education stated “ the Ofsted judgement for Sudell is a testament to the transformational journey the school has undertaken in the last few years and l have no doubts from what l have seen during the inspection that they will continue on their journey to Outstanding”. Inspectors concluded that Sudell is a school where pupils are kind and friendly to each other and to visitors; where pupils who are new to the school are warmly welcomed and make friends quickly; where pupils behave well in lessons and around school; and a school where pupils feel safe and cared for. Jenna Harty, Principal at Sudell said “the last two years have been extremely difficult for all schools including Sudell, where we have had to operate in a global pandemic, support key workers and keep our pupils and community safe. To receive such a glowing Ofsted report on the back of that is a testament to the resilience of the staff we have here, the wonderful pupils, the confidence our parents have placed in us and the fantastic support we receive from Aldridge Education”. You can download a full copy of the report from here: Ofsted Report Schools performance in england Results 2023 Key Stage 2 Maths Reading Writing Combined Score % Pupils at or above expected level 44.8% 31% 34.5% 28% National Average 68% 67% 58% 60% Average Score (scaled score) 97 99 N/A N/A Pupils Who Achieved a Higher Standard

  • Design Technology | Sudell Primary

Design Technology Curriculum Home / Curriculum / Design Technology / Mr Chambers Design Technology Subject Leader Introduction At Sudell Primary School our curriculum approach is underpinned by three key drivers that inform everything we do and all of our planning. These three drivers help us to fulfil our aim of offering our wonderful children a truly world class education. Our three curriculum drivers are designed to ensure that we offer a broad and balanced curriculum that is rich in: Knowledge Experience Social Conscience Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum. Our pupils are offered a very wide range of experiences to extend their understanding of themselves and the world in which they live. Skills, attitudes and values are developed to prepare the children for the next stage of learning (Key Stage 1 and 2 ready and secondary ready), and enable them to be successful in the community. We believe that effective learning takes place when there is considerable emphasis on active involvement, opportunities to talk both imaginatively, expressively and to explain and clarify thinking. The school expects everyone to develop and show a sense of responsibility and self-discipline whether alone, together, at work or at play, and to support policies on equal opportunities. We actively promote British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs to prepare our pupils for life in modern day Britain. We also provide opportunities for our pupils to learn about the contribution of Britons to innovation, excellence and changes in the world. At Sudell Primary School we believe that through clear, discrete subject specific teaching we can develop a clear knowledge rich curriculum that will benefit our learners, a majority of whom are from ‘disadvantaged’ families. Through combining this with our aims of making our curriculum rich in experience and social conscience we believe that we can fulfill our curriculum aims/ ‘big intent’. Our children deserve the very best; we believe our curriculum offers them this. Curriculum Flowchart Our curriculum flow charts map out the Sudell approach to delivering a curriculum embedded with experience, knowledge and social conscience. This approach is replicated for every subject within our curriculum.
