    P.E Curriculum Home / Curriculum / PE / Mrs Hornby PE Subject Leader Introduction At Sudell Primary School our curriculum approach is underpinned by three key drivers that inform everything we do and all of our planning. We hope it gives you a flavour of what we are all about! ​ At Sudell Primary School we are proud of our supportive community of children, staff and parents. We are a friendly, happy and nurturing school with high aspirations for all of our children. It is our priority to ensure that all our children have the opportunity to fulfil their potential. ​ Our Early Years provision is rated Good by Ofsted and we are fortunate to have a dedicated team of staff who are utterly committed to the children in their care. They work closely with our families to teach children to be confident, co-operative and responsible individuals - preparing them for the next steps in their learning journey.   • Attendance | Sudell Primary

    Attendance Home / Parents / Attendance / Sudell gives your child a wide range of experiences in the form of academic lessons, educational trips and clubs. The more your child is in the School the more they increase their opportunity to fulfil their potential. School can also help your child’s social skills, such as making and keeping friendships. A regular and punctual attendance pattern will help your child when they enter the world of work. PARENT/CARER RESPONSIBILITIES The links between attendance and attainment are clear. Regular attendance means your child can make the most of their education, improving their chances in adult life. In order to achieve their full potential we expect all Sudell children to maintain attendance of at least 97%. Parents and Carers can help by: ​ Ensuring contact information (addresses and telephone numbers) is kept up to date. Ensuring your child arrives at the Academy on time (at 8:55 am), properly dressed and prepared for learning. Contacting the school office on the first and any subsequent days of absence stating the reason for the absence and when your child is likely to return. Where possible, providing medical evidence for any illness – this will be required if your child’s attendance falls below 90%. Where possible, please try to arrange medical and dental appointments out of school hours. If this is not possible, your child should only be out of school for the minimum amount of time necessary for the appointment. If you have any difficulty meeting these targets or would like any further information about school attendance please contact our Home School Liaison Officer on 01254 703440 ​ ​ DID YOU KNOW... 95% attendance means 10 missed school days 95% attendance means 10 missed school days 90% attendance means 19 missed school days 85% attendance means 29 missed school days There are 175 non-school days per year! ​ Please use these days to make appointments, go on holiday and spend time together.

We believe that effective learning takes place when there is considerable emphasis on active involvement, opportunities to talk both imaginatively, expressively and to explain and clarify thinking. The school expects everyone to develop and show a sense of responsibility and self-discipline whether alone, together, at work or at play, and to support policies on equal opportunities. We actively promote British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs to prepare our pupils for life in modern day Britain. We also provide opportunities for our pupils to learn about the contribution of Britons to innovation, excellence and changes in the world. At Sudell Primary School we believe that through clear, discrete subject specific teaching we can develop a clear knowledge rich curriculum that will benefit our learners, a majority of whom are from ‘disadvantaged’ families. Through combining this with our aims of making our curriculum rich in experience and social conscience we believe that we can fulfill our curriculum aims/ ‘big intent’.
