Year 3
Welcome to Year 3! The children have already settled in well and made a fantastic start to the year, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and dedication in their learning.
Meet the Year 3 team
Miss Rawat – Class Teacher
I have been teaching at Sudell Primary school for 5 years and I absolutely love what I do. I started my teaching journey in Key Stage 1 and now I am teaching in Key stage 2.I enjoy teaching every part of the curriculum especially Art and PSHE. I became a teacher because I love helping children grow in confidence, discover their strengths and realise they’re capable of far more than they think (and because I enjoy explaining things, asking lots of questions and owning more whiteboard pens than strictly necessary). In our classroom, we work hard, laugh often, and celebrate effort just as much as success. I aim to create a calm, supportive space where children feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and give things a go! even when they’re not sure yet. I’m looking forward to a year packed with learning, laughter and a few excellent “Ohhh, now I get it!” moments.
Mrs Riley – Teaching Assistant
I have been a teaching assistant for 26 Years and I enjoy meeting children of the children that I have taught in the past. One of my favourite parts of teaching is helping the children grow in confidence and being there for the small moments that make a big difference. I enjoy supporting learning in any way I can! whether that’s tackling tricky maths, celebrating reading successes, or offering encouragement on a not-so-great day.
PE days
In year 3 our PE days are every Monday and Thursday. Please send children in with their PE kit and trainers on these days.
Homework Incentive Reminder
A reminder that the children in Year 3 are working towards earning a fantastic end-of-term reward. Each time children complete their reading or homework, they will earn a special ‘DidiDot’ sticker which is added to our classroom chart. If they collect all 20 stickers by the end of the term, they will enjoy a special reward treat!
Weekly homework includes reading at least three times a week, weekly spelling practice and either a SPaG or maths worksheet. All homework is posted on Class Dojo every Friday afternoon, and children have until the following Thursday to complete it. Homework is now recorded in class - if children bring it in, they can earn between 5 and 10 Dojos.
Children are also encouraged to use TT Rockstars regularly to practise their times tables, so please ask if you need your child’s login details.

If you would like any extra resources - such as arithmetic/handwriting sheets or additional practice in a particular area - please just let me know. I’m more than happy to help!

At the start of each half term, we upload our class newsletter, which outlines:
• key learning for the half term
