Year 3
Welcome to Year 3! The children have already settled in well and made a fantastic start to the year, demonstrating remarkable enthusiasm and dedication in their learning.
Meet the Year 3 team
Miss Baker – Class Teacher
My name is Miss Baker, and I am delighted to have joined the team at Sudell Primary School. I have been teaching for 20 years and feel truly passionate about helping children learn, grow, and succeed. I have a busy and happy family life with my partner, my three children, two stepchildren and our dog, Chip. In our classroom, I aim to create a safe, welcoming, and positive environment where every child feels valued, confident, and inspired to work hard and do their best. I love music and am especially passionate about encouraging a love of singing. Outside of school, I enjoy making special memories with my family and watching musicals at the theatre, which always brings me so much joy.
PE days
In year 3 our PE days are every Monday and Thursday. Please send children in with their PE kit and trainers on these days.
Homework Incentive Reminder
A reminder that the children in Year 3 are working towards earning a fantastic end-of-term reward. Each time children complete their reading or homework, they will earn a special ‘DidiDot’ sticker which is added to our classroom chart. If they collect all 20 stickers by the end of the term, they will enjoy a special reward treat!
Weekly homework includes reading at least three times a week, weekly spelling practice and either a SPaG or maths worksheet. All homework is posted on Class Dojo every Friday afternoon, and children have until the following Thursday to complete it. Homework is now recorded in class - if children bring it in, they can earn between 5 and 10 Dojos.
Children are also encouraged to use TT Rockstars regularly to practise their times tables, so please ask if you need your child’s login details.

If you would like any extra resources - such as arithmetic/handwriting sheets or additional practice in a particular area - please just let me know. I’m more than happy to help!

At the start of each half term, we upload our class newsletter, which outlines:
• key learning for the half term
• important dates
• trips, events or celebrations
• reminders for parents
• how you can support at home
